Love is in the air this winter and Keystone Resort is the perfect place to propose to your loved one! We have several of our favorite engagement locations on Keystone Mountain that will make your proposal everything you imagined.
We know the proposal plan can be stressful, so we are here to help choose the best place for you and your soon-to-be fiancé!
Top of Schoolmarm Run:
The top of the run Schoolmarm on Dercum Mountain provides one of the best views on the mountain. When exploring engagement locations, the views of Dillon Reservoir and Buffalo Mountain, as a backdrop for a proposal will not disappoint. In the summertime, this is one of the most sought out ceremony locations at Keystone Mountain so you may just want to pop the question and get married all in the same place. Schoolmarm is also known to be the longest run in Colorado. With 3.5 miles of groomed snow, you will have plenty of time to celebrate.
Tip: Plan for a photographer (professional or a friend) to join you for the proposal. The views, your soon to be bride, and you down on one knee will surely need to be captured!
Powder Day Engagement Location at Keystone’s Back Bowls:
Nothing beats a powder day, especially a powder day where you get to spend forever with the one you love. Keystone Resort has incredible back bowls that are just an easy hike away. The bowls not only have fantastic skiing, but are sure to have powder stashes all day long. This along with the amazing views make Keystone’s back bowls the perfect spot for dropping a knee. North and South Bowl are located off of the Outback chair and offer breathtaking mountain views including Breckenridge Ski Resort. Bergman and Erickson Bowl are less traveled and are found off of North Peak Mountain. Ski down through the famous Windows trails after the proposal for some of the best tree skiing at the resort.
Tip: Make sure the ring is nice and secure before opening that box in the light fluffy CO powder.
The Top of Outback Mountain:
For the more expert skiers and riders, set your proposal sites on the Outback Mountain at Keystone Resort. Views from the top are incredible and the long, sustained tree runs provide plenty of private spots to pop the question. You may want to scoop scope out your location prior to the big day with so much terrain to choose from. We love just skiers right off the lift looking towards Breckenridge or back at the Outpost into the Black Forest tree runs. If proposing didn’t get your blood pumping, the ride down will have plenty of fun steeps and trees!
The Outpost Gondola on Keystone:
If you or your significant other is not a skier or rider, don’t worry, you can still create a unique on-mountain proposal experience. Keystone Resort offers scenic gondola ride lift tickets that you can purchase online prior to the proposal day. There are two gondolas to choose from but we prefer the Outpost Gondola. It is more private, has great views and will take you over to the famous Alpenglow Stube where you can celebrate with lunch, slippers, and champagne!
Tip: Bring blankets and a thermos of hot chocolate so you can cozy up on the gondola and stay warm!
Night Skiing at Keystone:
Freshly groomed corduroy always sets a perfect scene to pop the question. What makes it even better is asking for her hand under the full moon and lights of Keystone Resort. Celebrate in a unique setting under the lights then hit a restaurant in River Run Village for a glass of bubbly. Zuma Roadhouse has a perfect fireplace to sit, sip, and celebrate. Now through January 1st, 2021 you can stroll through the Lights of River Run to continue the magic! Book a room right in River Run with views of the slopes so you can marvel at the mountain where your loved one said yes!
Bonus: Keystone Resort also has great engagement locations off the mountain, here are a couple of our favorites!
Ski Tip Lodge:
The Ski Tip Lodge is one of our favorite places to dine at Keystone. The Ski Tip Lodge is an old stagecoach stop from the 1800’s that has been turned into a cozy bed and breakfast with some of the best food in Summit County. When at the Ski Tip you will experience a 4 course dinner menu and at the end of your meal you will be taken to the “living room” to enjoy dessert by the fireplace. Sounds romantic? It is, which is why it is one of our top locations to get engaged at Keystone Mountain.
Lakeside Ice Skating Rink at the Base of Keystone:
An engagement on skates is exciting, especially on the largest outdoor rink in Colorado. Head over to Lakeside Village to lace up your skates and get down on one knee. Add in romantic twinkling lights during the night hours under the stars and the big Christmas tree, the setting is perfect for asking the big question. Once she says yes, head inside to warm up and grab a hot cocoa or other beverage right on the edge of the ice.
Want to tie the knot in the mountains? Keystone Resort has plentiful breathtaking wedding venues in addition to its many memorable engagement locations. We may be a little biased, but Warren Station Center for the Arts offers a wonderful wedding venue and ceremony site at the base of Keystone Resort with lodging and amenities just steps away. Check out Keystone Resort weddings for mountain-top venues where your guests can ride the gondola and experience your engagement for themselves.
We hope this helps you explore some of the perfect engagement locations on Keystone Mountain! Cheers to all of the newly engaged couples!
