DISTILLED – Speaker and Spirits Series – Backcountry and Bourbon

DISTILLED PRESENTS: “Backcountry and Bourbon”
A Small Batch Bourbon Tasting and Avalanche Awareness presentation with Friends of the CAIC (Colorado Avalanche Information Center), Keystone Ski Patrol, and Jim Beam. A portion of proceeds will benefit Friends of the CAIC, and Keystone Ski Patrol. Raffle ticket included with purchased ticket.
Join us for the fourth annual Distilled Speaker and Spirits Series on Saturday, January 11th!
We kick off the Warren Station Distilled Series with Backcountry and Bourbon. Friends of the CAIC will enlighten the audience on backcountry safety and travel/avalanche awareness. Additionally, a Jim Beam whiskey expert will lead a presentation and tasting of a series of small batch bourbons. Explore the delicate balance of backcountry safety along with the history, aging process and recipes of these unique small batch bourbons. In addition Keystone Ski Patrol will also have a short presentation on their avalanche dog program.
Tickets include samples of all the bourbons, and a raffle ticket. There will be swag giveaways from some of the industry’s premier backcountry companies. Come out for a night of spirited education and help us kick off DISTILLED at Warren Station on Saturday, January 11th.
Aaron Parmet (Know Before You Go Instructor) – Aaron will be giving a themed talked on Human Factors and decision making in the backcountry.
Michael Currid (Keystone Ski Patrol) – Michael is in his 13th season on the Keystone Ski Patrol, and patrolled for a season in Australia in 2008. He works as an Avalanche Specialist on KSP and completed Level 3 training with the American Avalanche Association. Michael is a certified tech on the Colorado Rapid Avalanche Deployment Team and is training his Yellow Lab, Reagan, for validation.
Oleg Shikverg (Jim Beam Whiskey and Spirits Expert) – Local Jim Beam expert who will bring together the love of whiskey and the backcountry in this informative tasting of Basil Hayden and Legent.
