7:00pm – Thunder and Rain

Winter Bluegrass Weekend

Playing Friday night!

In their brief tenure together as Thunder & Rain, the band has captured a sound that accentuates their talents and is accessible to fans both young and old. Thunder & Rain’s depth and unforgettable melodies are putting meaning back into modern country music.

8:15pm – The Pine Beatles

Winter Bluegrass Weekend

Local Favorite!

The Pine Beatles are as cheeky and irreverent as their name.  Born from the simple desire among friends to play and share music with others, the band was born out of spontaneous Sunday evening jams.  Playing private parties, non-profit fundraisers, cook-outs and Weddings, this community based band soon became known around Summit County as a fun component of any friendly gathering.

9:30pm – Horseshoes and Hand Grenades

Headlining Friday Night!

Hailing from the river town of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, HHG plays something like progressive high-energy old-time folk music. With strong roots in old-time and bluegrass, the band has formed it’s own unique style born from the diverse musical backgrounds and interests of the five friends who make up the band. All born and raised in the great state of Wisconsin, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades began playing music and their earliest shows in the spring of 2009. Since then, the band has shared the stage with Merle Haggard, the Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled by Turtles, Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, the Del McCoury Band, and many more. Being mostly inspired by rivers, valleys, good friends, and good drink, this five piece is as sturdy as any Midwest riverbed and will make your toes tap from sundown to sunrise.

9:30pm – the Lil’ Smokies

Winter Bluegrass Weekend

2016 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Momentum Award for Best Band

With their roots submerged in the thick buttery mud of traditional bluegrass, The Lil’ Smokies have sonically blossomed into a leading player in the progressive acoustic sphere, creating a new and wholly unique, melody driven sound of their own. This five-piece bluegrass ensemble features Andy Dunnigan (dobro), Scott Parker (upright bass), Matt Cornette (banjo), Jake Simpson (fiddle) and Matt Rieger (guitar). With a unique blend of traditional bluegrass, newgrass, innumerable unique originals, sheer raw energy, and exquisite musicianship, The Lil’ Smokies weave seamlessly through genres, leaving behind melodies you’ll be singing to yourself for days and a jaw you’ll have to pick up off the floor.
