Many will agree that bacon is the “Gateway Meat”, but what else is there to learn?  According to the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour Organizers, lots. The Bacon Education Center is the only educational experience of its kind, providing instruction in bacon fellowship, bacon preparation, bacon processing, bacon and whiskey infusion and whiskey mixology. The top enthusiasts in the industry share their knowledge, passion and tips on taking everything you know about bacon and whiskey. Learn about cooking pork to the correct temperature and about resources that are available to you for finding the best pork recipes available.  Safe cooking temperatures for pork aren’t what your grandmother used to think.  Pork is safe, exciting to prepare and eat, and a host for many different flavor profiles.  Also, the Colorado Pork Producers Council, CPPC, will talk about selecting pork and working with your butcher to have the tastiest options available for you to choose from.  Do you like Asian recipes? How about American BBQ? Or, are Mexican profiles more your thing?  Are you looking for that quick, easy recipe collection when you really don’t have time to think about dinner?  The CPPC can show you how to find those recipes and more!  Pork.  Be Inspired!

“Camp Bacon…You Know, for Kids” with Marshall Porter, Official Pig-Pen Drove Leader and Bacon Instructor

Bring your little bacon-lovers to this interactive demonstration where they’ll learn how bacon can heal small wounds, start a camp fire and improve their personal hygiene. They can even join in a bacon sing-a-long.

There is no debate that good things come from old oak barrels. Add some savory, porky goodness and you have a combination to tempt the multitudes.  Join the bacon and bourbon experts from Jim Beam as they take you on a sampling journey of meat candy and distilled spirits.  All participants must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid Driver’s License.
