Love is in the air this winter and Keystone Resort is the perfect place to propose to your loved one! We have lined up the top engagement spots at Keystone that will make your proposal everything you imagined.
We know that planning a proposal can be scary, exciting… all of the above. Thinking of the perfect engagement spot doesn’t need to add to your stress! We are here to help you choose the best place for you and your soon-to-be fiancé.
Top of Dercum Mountain:
Take the gondola to the top of Dercum Mountain to Summit House. This area provides one of the best views of the mountains, including Breckenridge Resort and Dillon Reservoir. When exploring engagement locations, the views seen here provide an incredible backdrop for a proposal. This is one of the most sought-after ceremony locations in the summertime on Keystone Mountain, so you may want to pop the question and get married all in the same place. To celebrate your proposal, ski or ride down Schoolmarm. With 3.5 miles of groomed snow, you will have plenty of time to celebrate.
Tip: Plan for a photographer (professional or a friend) to join you for the proposal. The views, your soon-to-be finance, and you down on one knee will surely need to be captured!
Powder Day Engagement Location at Keystone’s Back Bowls:
Nothing beats a powder day. Especially if you get to spend forever with the one you love after your proposal! Keystone Resort has incredible back bowls that are just a modest hike away. The bowls not only have fantastic skiing but are sure to have powder stashes all day long. This, along with the amazing views make Keystone’s back bowls an unforgettable spot for popping the question! The North and South Bowls are located off the Outback chair and offer breathtaking mountain views including Breckenridge Ski Resort. Bergman and Erickson Bowl are less traveled and are found off of North Peak Mountain. Ski down through the famous Windows trails after the proposal for some of the best tree skiing at the resort.
Tip: Ensure the ring is nice and secure before opening that box in the light fluffy CO powder.
The Top of Outback Mountain:
For the expert skiers and riders, set your proposal location at the Outback Mountain at Keystone Resort. The views from the top are incredible, and the long, sustained tree runs provide plenty of secluded spots to pop the question. You may want to scope out your proposal location prior to the big day with so much terrain to choose from. If proposing doesn’t get your blood pumping enough, the ride down will have plenty of fun steep sections and trees!
The Outpost Gondola at Keystone:
If you or your significant other is not a skier or rider, don’t worry, you can still create a unique on-mountain proposal! Keystone Resort offers scenic gondola ride lift tickets that you can purchase online prior to the proposal day. There are two gondolas to choose from, but we prefer the Outpost Gondola. It is more private and has excellent views!
Tip: Bring blankets and a thermos of hot chocolate or cider to cozy up on the gondola and stay warm!
Night Skiing at Keystone:
Freshly groomed runs always set a perfect scene to pop the question. What makes it better is asking for their hand under the full moon and lights of Keystone Resort. Celebrate in a unique setting under the lights, then pop into a restaurant in River Run Village for a glass of bubbly and dinner. Zuma Roadhouse has a crackling fireplace to enjoy, sip, and celebrate. Continue the magic and make a weekend of it! Book a room right in River Run with views of the slopes so you can marvel at the mountain where your partner said yes!
Bonus: Keystone Resort also has great engagement spots off the mountain, here are a couple of our favorites!
Ski Tip Lodge:
The Ski Tip Lodge is one of our favorite places to dine at Keystone. The Ski Tip Lodge is an old stagecoach stop from the 1800s that has been turned into a cozy bed and breakfast with some of the best food in Summit County. When at the Ski Tip, you will experience a 4-course dinner menu and at the end of your meal you will be taken to the “living room” to enjoy dessert by the fireplace. Sounds romantic? It is, which is why it is one of our top locations to get engaged at Keystone Mountain! Alternatively, make a reservation at Ski Tip Lodge to celebrate your engagement!
Lakeside Ice Skating Rink at the Base of Keystone:
An engagement on skates is exciting and unique, especially on the largest outdoor rink in Colorado. Head over to Lakeside Village to lace up your skates, and propose under the dazzling twinkling lights during nighttime. This setting is exceptionally romantic! Once they say yes, head inside to warm up with hot cocoa or a beverage of your choosing right on the edge of the ice.
Want to tie the knot in the mountains? Keystone Resort has plentiful breathtaking wedding venues in addition to its many memorable engagement locations. We may be a little biased, but Warren Station Center for the Arts offers a wonderful reception venue with tons of great inclusions at the base of Keystone Resort with lodging and amenities for you and your guests just steps away. Check out Keystone Resort weddings for mountain-top venues where your guests can ride the gondola and experience your engagement for themselves.
We hope this helps you explore some of the perfect engagement locations on Keystone Mountain! Cheers to all of the newly engaged couples!
