We have compiled (what we think is) a great list of activities and events for you and your guests for your wedding weekend. Planning a destination wedding is a lot of work. Though the thoughts of a summer vacation usually sell the invite, we find it nice to offer your wedding guests a list of events going on in the area, as well as just casual to-dos leading up to you saying “I Do”.
Events in June:
Getting married in June? Please note that the weather can be testy. However, when it does behave, there is so much to do. Keystone Mountain usually opens for summer fun in the second week of June. Your more adventurous guests will have access to 55 miles of lift-serviced world-class mountain biking. In contrast, if you have guests who prefer leisure activities the River Run Village is full of restaurants and shopping. After a day tearing up the mountain, look to Warren Station for a night of laughs. Their comedy series launches on June 19th. Over the weekend, take the gondola up the mountain to find yoga at the Overlook Deck. For those getting married at the end of June, Keystone Festival’s Bacon and Bourbon Festival is in full swing on June 27th and 28th.

Activities in July:
Picking a July wedding date was a great call! It is especially sunny in July, further enhancing Colorado’s beauty. We recommend checking out the Dillon Marina, you can rent stand up paddleboards, pontoon boats, and even take sailing lessons. When your guests are done on the water, send them to the Tiki Bar for drinks. Another great option for the days leading up to your wedding is fly fishing lessons. Cutthroat Anglers offers lessons, wade trips, as well as day floats down the Colorado River. Another great option is for those adventure-seeking guests. White water rafting is a blast! Get on the Blue River- class II-III, it is fun for all ages. Keystone is also putting on another festival. Wine and Jazz festival is free to attend, or you can purchase a wine glass and taste over 300 wines. If your Colorado wedding falls around July 11th and 12th, this is one event you don’t want to miss.

August Events and Activities:
Ah, the peak of summer. However, when you tire of the water play and the mountain biking, Snow tubing is there to cool you off. Head to the top of Dercum Mountain, grab yourself a snow tube (don’t forget your sunnies) and get tubing! Just as every lady needs a ladies’ night. We feel that every guy deserves a guys day. Keystone’s golf course is seconds away,

and a great way to let your guests unwind with the groom. In addition to these great ways to have fun, Keystone Festivals are at it again. Bluegrass and Beer Festival kicks August off right. August 1st and 2nd, River Run Village will be bumpin’ some bluegrass and serving up Colorado’s favorite brews. On the other hand, if your wedding is after that, August 15th is bringing you the Mountain Town Music Festival. This is a free, yes free, village concert that goes all day long!
Activities and Events in September:
September is one of our favorite months here in Keystone. The weather is perfect, the aspens are turning and the farmer’s markets are still out. Send your guests on an Aspen viewing adventure, click here for some of the best aspen riddled hikes in Summit County. Afterward, the Dillon Farmers Market is close by, bumping with local live music, and delicious eats. Getting married in Summit County around the 5th of September? The first Oktoberfest of the season takes place in River Run Village. Get your lederhosen on and taste some quality beers, while taking in the live music jamming through the day.

Every Month During the Summer:
Friday Afternoon Club at Keystone Resort happens during Keystone’s summer season. Take the free gondola ride up to the top of Dercum mountain and enjoy live music from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm. Happy hour specials go from 1:00 pm-7:00 pm with a multitude of choices in food or drink!
